In the Window and User Object Painters, use Space Controls on the Edit Menu to adjust the space between selected controls.  In the DataWindow Painter, use Space Objects on the Edit Menuto adjust the spacing between columns, fields, and graphic objects in the DataWindow.

The distance (horizontal or vertical) between the first two objects you select is the standard spacing.  PowerBuilder makes the space between the other objects equal to this space.

Note:You must select at least three controls or objects to use the Space menu item.

To space objects:

  1. Select the controls or objects you want to space equally.
  2. TIP:   To select multiple controls, objects, or DataWindow columns, press Ctrl and click the controls, objects, or columns you want to select.

  3. Select Space menu itemfrom the Edit Menu.  The spacing options display.
  4. Click the option that represents the way you want to space the controls, objects, or columns:
    1. Horizontally - Make the gap between the selected controls, objects, or columns the same horizontally.

Vertically - Make the gap between the selected controls, objects, or columns the same vertically.

  5. Click the OK button to close the Space window and adjust the spacing.
