In the database Painter, you can use the keyboard to:

Select a table or view:

Press Tab to move left to right among the tables and views.

or

Press Shift+Tab to move right to left (backwards) among the tables and views.

When you tab to a table or view, PowerBuilder highlights the table or view and makes it the active table or view.  If necessary, the workspace will scroll as you tab to display all the tables.

TIP:   When the pointer is in a table or view, PowerBuilder highlights the table or view and makes it the active table or view.

Expand a table or view:

1. Press Tab or Shift+Tab to select the table or view you want to expand.
2. Press Shift and the up or down arrow. PowerBuilder expands the selected table or view.

Display the Alter Table window:

1. Press Tab or Shift+Tab to select the table or view for which you want to display the extended column definition information.
2. Press Enter.  PowerBuilder displays the Alter Table window.

Browse an index:

1. Press Tab or Shift+Tab to select the table with the index you want to browse.
2. Press Tab or Shift+Tab to select the index you want to browse.
3. Press Enter.  PowerBuilder displays the Browse Index window.

Scroll up or down in the Database Painter workspace:

If you open more tables and views than can be displayed in the Database Painter workspace at one time, you can scroll up or down to view all the tables and views.

To scroll up:

            Press the up arrow. 

To scroll down:

            Press the down arrow. 

TIP:   If necessary, PowerBuilder scrolls the workspace automatically when you press Tab or Shift+Tab.
