Selecting more than one control at a time is useful when you want to:
Delete everything in a Menu or Window.
Modify the style options for all or the majority of the controls in a window.
To select more than one but not all the controls, use the Select icon , the Ctrl key, or the Control List menu item.
To use the Select icon :
TIP: Use this method to select controls in a group.
- Move the pointer to the a control in the group you want to select.
- Select the Select icon.
- Drag a box around the group of controls.
To use the Ctrl key:
- Select a control.
- Hold down the Ctrl key and click each additional control you want to select.
TIP: Clicking a selected control while you press the Ctrl key deselects the control.
To use the Control List menu item:
- Select Control List from the Design Menu or press Ctrl+N. The Control List window lists the controls in the window.
- Click the names of the controls you want to select. PowerBuilder highlights the selected names. To deselect a control, click the name again.
- Click Select to close the Select List window and display the workspace (the selected controls will have small boxes at the corners) or click Control Style to open the Control Style window for the first control selected in the list.
TIP: If you select multiple controls and then open the Control Style window, pressing OK displays the Control Style window for the another selected control. When the Control Style windows for all the selected controls have displayed, press OK to display the workspace.
To Select All Controls in a Window
Small boxes display at the corners of the selected controls.
TIP: To select most but not all the controls in a menu or window, it may be faster to select all the controls and then deselect the controls you do not want selected.
