If you frequently run a query, add an item to a toolbar to run the query. This saves you from having to select the query each time you want to run it.

To add a report to a toolbar:

1. Open the Customize window for the toolbar in which you want to add an icon to run the query:

Click the right mouse button in the toolbar you want to customize and then click the Customize button in the dropdown toolbar menu.

or

Select Toolbars from the Window menu, the Toolbar window displays. Select the toolbar you want to customize from the list in the window and then click the Customize button.

Tip    You cannot customize the ColorBar or StyleBar.

2. Click Custom in the Select Palette box. The custom icon palette displays in the Selected Palette box.
3. Press the mouse button in the icon and drag it to the current toolbar and drop where you want it to display in the toolbar.

If the icon is unassigned, Unassigned custom icon displays in the Description area while you are dragging the icon and when you drop the icon the Toolbar Item Command window displays. If the icon is assigned, the MicroHelp for the icon displays in the Description area; if the icon has no MicroHelp the area is blank.

4. Click the Query button in the Special Command box. The Select Query window displays.

Tip    To assign a query to the icon the first time you click the icon in a painter, click the OK button in the Toolbar Items Command window.

5. Select the query you want to associate with the icon.
