If you frequently place a particular user object in a window or another user object, add an item to the painter toolbar to place that user object. This saves you from having to select the object each time you want to place it in a window or another user object.
To add user objects to a toolbar:
- Open the Customize window for the toolbar in which you want to display an item for a user object:
Click the right mouse button in the toolbar you want to customize and then click the Customize button in the dropdown toolbar menu.
or
Select Toolbars from the Window menu, the Toolbar window displays. Select the toolbar you want to customize from the list in the window and then click the Customize button.
Tip You cannot customize the ColorBar or StyleBar.
- Click Custom in the Select Palette box. The custom icon palette displays in the Selected Palette box.
- Drag an unassigned icon and drop it in the Current Toolbar box where you want it to display in the toolbar.
If the icon is unassigned, Unassigned custom icon displays in the Description area while you are dragging the icon. When you drop the icon, the Toolbar Item Command window displays. If the icon is assigned, the MicroHelp for the icon displays in the Description area; if the icon has no MicroHelp, the Description area is blank.
- Click the User Object button. The Select User Object window displays.
Tip To assign the user object to the icon the first time you click the icon in a painter, click the OK button in the Toolbar Item Command window.
- Select the user object you want to associate with the icon.
Tip To search for a particular user object, click the Browse button on the Select User Object window. The Browse window displays; enter your search criteria and click Search.
