To move a toolbar, press and hold the mouse button near the outside edge of an icon in the toolbar and drag the toolbar to a new location. Optionally, you can use the Toolbar popup menu or Toolbars window to select a new location. If the new location for the toolbar is in a toolbar dock containing another toolbar, PowerBuilder shifts the toolbars to make space for the moved toolbar.

Tip     After you change the location of a toolbar, it will display in that location until you move it again. PowerBuilder saves the position and state of each toolbar in the PB.INI file and you can modify the settings in Preferences.

To drag the toolbar:

  1. Move the mouse pointer into a blank area within the toolbar you want to move, or into the title bar if the toolbar is a floating toolbar.
  2. Press the left mouse button and, without releasing the button, drag the toolbar to its new location.
  3. Tip     If the toolbar is a floating toolbar, double-click an unused area in the toolbar to move it to the last dock in which it was displayed.

  4. Release the mouse button when the toolbar is in the desired location.

To use the toolbar menu:

  1. Move the mouse pointer to a blank area in the toolbar you want to move, or into the title bar if the toolbar is a floating toolbar.
  2. Click the right mouse button. The Toolbar menu displays.
  3. Click a toolbar dock location (Top, Left, Right, or Bottom) or Floating to make the toolbar a floating toolbar. The menu closes and the toolbar displays in the selected location.

To use the Toolbars window:

  1. Select Toolbars from the Window menu. The Toolbars window displays with the name of the current toolbar highlighted.
  2. Tip    To define a location for another toolbar, select the toolbar from the list in the Select Toolbar box.

  3. Select a toolbar dock location (Top, Left, Right, or Bottom) or Floating. The selected toolbar displays in the specified location.
  4. Click Done to save your changes and close the window.
