Use the custom palette in the Customize window to add custom commands and actions to a toolbar.

  1. Open the Customize window:
  2. Click the right mouse button in the toolbar you want to customize and then click the Customize button in the dropdown toolbar menu.

    or

    Select Toolbars from the Window menu, the Toolbar window displays. Select the toolbar you want to customize from the list in the window and then click the Customize button.

    Tip    You cannot customize the ColorBar or StyleBar.

    The Customize window displays the selected toolbar in the Current Toolbar box.

  3. Click Custom in the Select Palette box to display the custom palette in the Selected Palette box.
  4. Click an icon in the Selected Palette, drag it to the toolbar in the Current Toolbar box, and drop it where you want it to display. If the icon is unassigned, the Toolbar Item Command window displays.
  5. Tip    If the icon is unassigned, Currently Unassigned displays in MicroHelp.

  6. Enter (in Command Line box) the name of a command or PowerBuilder menu item that you want to invoke when you click the icon. Optionally, you can click the Browse button and select the command from the list in the Browse window.
  7. Tip    To edit the command line for an icon, double-click the icon in the Customize window.

  8. Click the OK button. PowerBuilder associates the command line with the custom icon and closes the Toolbar Icon Command window.
  9. Tip    If you click Cancel in the Toolbar Item Command window, the icon will display in the toolbar and PowerBuilder will prompt you to specify the command line information the first time you try to use the icon.

  10. Repeat steps 3 through 5 for each custom icon you want to add to the toolbar.
  11. Click the OK button. PowerBuilder saves the toolbar configuration and closes the Customize window.
