Description
The Project painter is available in the New dialog box on the Project tab page. Now there are several versions of the Project painter.
PowerBuilder 6 included component generation. If you had installed component generators, when you opened the Project painter you could choose either to build an executable application or to generate a component that could be deployed to one of several environments. In PowerBuilder 7, there are versions of the Project painter to build even more component types.
Usage
To access the Project painter, click the New button in the PowerBar and select the Project tab page. In addition to icons that open versions of the Project painter, the Project tab page has Project wizards for creating many of these projects:

Application icons let you build a conventional executable application:

The other icons let you build and in some cases deploy these components:
Proxy Library Jaguar Proxy Jaguar Component Web.PB Automation Server Java Proxy COM/MTS Component
In these new versions of the Project painter, you use buttons on the PainterBar to select objects, specify generation properties, and build the component. When you build the component, the project status displays in the Project painter workspace.
